When on a college campus one may find themselves overwhelmed, bored, lonely, emotional, hungry (about all the time), etc., and sometimes there is only one way to truly remedy that. If you live on a college campus where there is wilderness all around you one can only imagine what to do after classes! Some people enjoy a simple hike in the mountains, and this is exactly what we did.
Two of my good friends and I went on a hike this afternoon. Our goal was actually to find a spot to eno in, but of course the one trail we decided to do didn't have any wonderful spots to eno in. Instead, we found a gorgeous site among us. The mountains are always full of surprises, so I've been learning. Their beauty never ceases to amaze me. They really are quite stunning to look at. After becoming tired from the heat and the hike, the three of us all took a moment to sit down and just admire what panned out before us.
Sure, we may have almost had our car break down on us on our way to the trail. Sure, we may have thought we knew how to get to the location without the GPS only to find out that about halfway there we had no clue how to get there. Sure, the GPS may have taken us a longer way to get to the location thus wasting gas that we were hoping to save. Sure, we may have gotten lost on the way back home as well and ended up almost heading back to our hometown instead of back to school.
However, with all the chocs involved with the hike it was all worth it. I got to spend a day with two good friends of mine and we got to experience stress out of the wazoo trying to hike this mountain but it came with a good price. The Mexican afterwords was well earned as well if I might add.
